Hermès Scarf 70 cm – Quadrige Costumé – P. Péron / Anamorphée & Natsuno Hidaka (2016)
Pièce unique.
Signed by Anamorphée & Natsuno Hidaka, Quadrige Costumé is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Quadrige, designed in 1973 by Pierre Péron. That design, now a great Hermès classic, features stylised horses set within a rigorous geometric composition. The classic design has in fact been reissued regularly since 2010.
In the modernised version offered here, the two artists, each of whom has signed several scarves for the Maison Hermès, bring a graphic, almost kaleidoscopic dimension: the horses break up into textile and ornamental motifs.
Issued in a single edition in 2016, this design sold out quickly. Hermès chose its so-called “vintage” silk rather than twill, giving the scarf a very fluid drape and a peach-skin softness. Today a rare and sought-after version.

A word from Diane
A piece apart. You immediately recognise the structure of Pierre Péron’s design, transformed by a contemporary reading, by not one but two Hermès artists. A marvel. The blue and red colourway is the rarest and most sought after. Its size and its fluid, soft silk make it easy to wear. Graphic, modern, ultra chic! ... and well on its way to becoming a collector’s piece.
