Gloria Soli is a large-format Hermès design by Julia Abadie, offered here in the giant cashmere and silk version. The composition is organised around a radiant sun, placed at the centre of the design like a sovereign star. Around it unfold ribbons, Roman numerals, stars, a crescent moon and golden ornaments, in a staging inspired by sundials, celestial emblems and the classical iconography of the sun. The palette combines warm, deep tones: brown, cream, gold, ochre, red and orange. The contrast between the marbled brown ground and the luminous centre gives this shawl an almost theatrical presence.
